I haven't posted in a while so here are some pictures of what we have been up to. First we spent Thanksgiving in Cancun with my family and had a GREAT time! once we got back it was time to celebrate the start of new decade for me! Not so excited about saying I am 30 but oh well at least I don't look it right? Matt took me to see the Body Worlds and then we met up with Callie and Greg for some shopping, dinner, and a movie. Matt didn't disappoint in my birthday present...he got me laser hair removal! I am so excited...I hate shaving. We also celebrated with friends later that week and they took us to a yummy dinner. Thanks girls I don't know where I would be without you! We have made christmas candy with my mom, Alli, and Shari and had a great time catching up. We have been to the Festivle of Trees, Thanksgiving Point to see the lights, Temple Square, Christmas Street, KKG Christmas parties and much more! Its a winter wonderland and I love it!

I hope that you all have a wonderful Christmas and I can't wait to see you most of you over the holiday break! Love the Mickelson -De Paula's

HAPPY THANKSGIVING

I just wanted to whish you all a happy Thanksgiving!
I don't have kids to pick on for little photo shoots so Charlotte let me borrow her adorable little Reese. Isn't she cute! I couldn't resist not posting this picture

A little bit of History

My Grandma on her 89th Birthday & my Uncle Keith
The 1ooo lbs old family safe

Who knew I had some fun family history? A month ago on my grandma's 89th birthday she opened this old family safe. The safe had been locked up for decades because no one had the code. There was a bunch of business documents inside and it was really interesting to see. They dated back to the early 1900's. I had always heard stories about my family and some of the land marks in Heber they owned but this was a fun little hidden treasure. By the way Grandma...Happy Birthday!

BLACKOUT!

Jason, Charlotte, Me and Matt

On Thursday we went to the U football game all dressed in black. It was so cool to see the stadium full of people in black. The Utes where behind the entire game until the last 3 minutes when they scored a touchdown! It was such a fun game! GO UTES!!!

Halloween Fun

Frank as "Kiss"
Matt (Charlie Chaplin) and me (Old Hollywood)

Most people know that I am not one to watch sports on TV but I love going to sporting events and seeing them live! Here are a couple of pictures and a video (I hope it works) I hate the picture of me in them so that is why I do not appear in any of the pictures but yes I was there. More to come later about our trip.

FIRE

So what did I do yesterday...well I watched a fire. This is a picture of the house across the street from my parent circle. Yes...the fire was that close. I have never seen a fire move so fast up the mountain as a gust of wind blew. There where ashes all over but I couldn't help but watch and wonder...is my childhood home going to burn down??? We took some pictures and I will get those up when i am back in town. It was a crazy day...as my family and I thought about what things we would pack and take with us if we had to leave. We also had our dog and cats close by in case so we wouldn't have to find them. Luckily no houses burned and it is sad to see the beautiful mountain all black. Thanks to all the fireman out there that saved the homes in Draper!

Boston!?!?

So to make a long story short...JFK airpot is a mess so we ended up staying in NY another day and ended up in Boston on our way home. We had a 5 hour layover so we grabed the Silverline (there bus/subway) and headed in the city of Beantown. We followed the freedom trail and saw as much as we could while there. I didn't get to see everything so I guess I will have to go back. Boston is a beautiful and clean city and also very quiet compaired to New York.

A Taste of the Big Apple

I haven't had time to post about my trip but here are some pictures to give you a little taste of all the fun we had! The first picture is of Reghan and I in Madison Square Park. The second is a picture taken from our row-boat in Central Park (I highly recomend doing this if your there) and the third is a picture of the Brooklyn Bridge right before we went under it. Who knew it had a waterfall under it?

X-BOX...is it really that bad of a gift?

I wont bore people with the story I just want opinions. If your soon to be husbands best friends all pitched in and bought him an X-Box 360 with games and a guitar for guitar hero would you...

a) Think it was really generous of his friends to spend that much on him and be grateful for the gift.

b) Tell his friends and parents of the friends that the gift is "unacceptable and inappropriate" and "that you would rather leave the gift at the wedding dinner and not take it home"

Finally

Now that I have lost most of my readers (all five of you) because I never post I thought I better put the update out there for the few of you who have left comments.

Where to start...Not much has happened just a few things. I was working for a publishing company and they where letting people go and I was one of the "Lucky ones" It didn't come as a shock we all knew it was happening but just didn't know when. I miss the people I worked with because I did work with the BEST sales team ever! We had a stressful job they sure knew how to make it fun. I have since found another job that I am very excited about!

Summer has been great so far. Matt and I have been hanging out with friends going up the canyon and roasting hot dogs and making cobbler with friends. I have been doing a lot of swimming (I love summer!) We have had friends come over a few times to swim but we need to swim more. My goal this summer is to get a camera so that i can post more pictures. I will be on vacation but when i get back and post about it I will be sure to have some pictures!

Its been too long!

Hello everyone! I would like to say I have been off doing something fun the last month but nope just the same old thing. We finished off February with a couple more birthdays. It was my litle brothers birthday and he turned a woppin 17...thats right 17. He is young, but such a cutie! We celebrated by having a BBQ because homemade hamburgers are his favorite. He got some great presents and then we ate dessert. Happy Birthday Kayden! We love you and thanks for being such a great brother! We also celebrated Franks (my brother-in-laws) birthday. We braved the crowds and went to Cheesecake Factory. It actually wasn't that bad. we went around 1 and it was only a 40 min wait! After we came back to are place to sing some karaoke. Yes we are addicted to karaoke. Who knew that singing to songs and sounding terrible could be SO fun. Happy birthday Frank and we love you also!

Now I know I said I would be better at pictures but that turned out to be a lost cause. It's so sad because I love to look at pictures and yet everytime I think of taking a picture I don't have our camera. Maybe I should just buy one for me and keep it in my purse. Well more updates soon!

Birthday & Wedding Celebrations!

That’s right we had a couple of birthday celebrations this weekend. My brother-in-law had his 30th birthday on Friday the 8th but little did he know about his Surprise Party the next day. His fabulous wife Callie with help of Greg’s cousin planned a great party. It was at Thanksgiving point and we had food, played poker, and Karaoke. I was so fun and everyone got into it! I know it wasn't my party but I know Callie & Greg loved all the support from the friends and family who came celebrate, even if just for a moment, I know they where grateful.

At midnight, Matt, me, Ryan, & Alli, drove up to Ogden to see Joel McHale (the guy that hosts the soup) and it was so funny and was nice enough to get pictures with us. I will post it soon. So by the time we left it was Sunday Feb 10th which was Alli's birthday! She turned a whopping twenty-something (I am not sure if she would want me to tell so you all get to guess but I will tell you this....younger than me) Also on Sunday I went to a wedding shower for my cousins fiancé and it was so fun. Shauna & Sharon did a great job of hosting and I am excited to have Tracie as and official member of the family!

So just when you think the celebrations have ended oh no...Monday was my little sisters birthday Feb 11th! She is the best little sister ever and she keeps me in style! My parents where in Cancun for the birthday so my sister and I planned a dinner that Danielle wanted and made it. We learned that we take forever to cook but she liked the meal and we all had a great time. My mom made the cake before she left and it was delightful. Happy Birthday little sis and welcome to you 20's.

Well that concludes this celebration weekend but don't you worry we have 2 more birthdays to go this month!

Where did you all go?

Sorry everyone. I don't know what happend to my list of you all. I will fix it tomorrow but please note that you where not taken off.

Frost Yourself

WOW...I am finally updating out blog. Sorry to the few of you who read this. Well I am not good at pictures but I did manage to get some pictures of the beautiful snow we have been getting.

To start off from my last post, Matt and I had a great holiday season! We had so much fun hanging out with all of our friends over the break. We are the luckiest people because we have the best friends ever! I don't know where I would be without them.

Matt & I celebrated our 4th anniversary on Jan 16th. Four years, my how time goes by so fast. Matt was cute and gave me flowers and took me to dinner. We opted to save our money for vacation instead of buying gifts. We didn't know what else to get each other so this was perfect because I LOVE to travel!

Matt's parents left on another mission this month. They left for New York, NY South and so far are enjoying it. I look forward to a few visits this year. I don't know what it is about the big apple but I love to visit it. There is so much to do on this tiny island.

To add to the excitment this month...Charlotte & Jason welcomed Reese Ann Richards into the world on Jan. 23rd. I wish I had a picture but take my word she is a cutie! Congrats you two! There are so many babies that have come and that are coming and all I have to say is these babies already have the greatest group of friends! Now I am sure I will get comments on "when is it my turn" Well that is a good question, and we don't have an answer....sorry to disappoint you all.

Well I think I have covered what has gone on since my last post. I promise that I will be better about my postings.
